Signs that your boiler is in need of repair

Just because your boiler has not broken down does not mean repair work is not required. We’ve compiled a list of the most common boiler repair call outs to make you  aware of the signs that you need a repair:

Louder than usual humming or any other strange noises

Noises such as loud humming, kettling (sounds like a kettle boiling) or banging noises will require some further investigation from a heating engineer. The cause of these odd noises is more often than not signs that your boiler needs to be worked on.

- Not responding to thermostat

There’s a number of reasons why your boiler is not responding to the thermostat. It could be a sign of a deeper issue within the boiler or a sign that your boiler is in need of chemical flushing and cleaning.

- Leaking pipes

An obvious yet important problem to be checked by a heating engineer as this could be a sign of deeper issues within your system.

- Low pressure

Low pressure in a boiler is a sign of a deeper issue within your central heating system. Checking the dial usually located on the front of the boiler is a way to diagnose pressure abnormalities. This dial should read 1.5 - 2 bar. If your dial is not ready between these two numbers we recommend calling in a boiler repair service to investigate the issue further.

If any of the above sound familiar we recommend calling one of our qualified engineers today. It’s important to get in touch with your local engineer if you notice something not quite right with your boiler. Boiler problems caught early can often be repaired before these turn into larger issues that may lead to higher repair costs or even a replacement boiler. Heat Eco serve the local area in Farnham, Farnborough and Guildford.
